NORTHWOOD PARISH COUNCIL
CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
Salary: Scale SCP 19 – 23. 10 hours per week pro rata
The Parish Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Clerk to fully service the needs of the Parish Council.
The Clerk is the Proper Officer of the Council and the Responsible Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be required to carry out the lawful instructions of the Council, to advise the Council, to assist in policy formulation and prepare all the information required in respect of the Council’s activities. In addition, as Responsible Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of resources, all financial records and for financial management.
The ideal applicant should:
- have previous local council or government experience and hold or be prepared to work towards obtaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration
- have good literacy, numeracy, IT software, word processing and communications skills
- have a flexible approach to working hours including the availability for evening meetings
- be prepared to work from home.
