What’s new
COVID-19 vaccination update
A booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is available for everyone aged 18 and over, and some people aged 16 and over, who have had 2 doses of the vaccine at least 3 months ago. 1st and 2nd doses are also still available for those that need them.
Please always use this website for the most up to date details on the vaccination programme on the Island.
You can go to walk-ins or book appointments via the NHS website or by calling 119.
Encourage everyone you know who hasn’t had the COVID-19 vaccine to get vaccinated now.
Plan B and guidance for businesses
- Face coverings are compulsory in further settings. Settings where face coverings are required must display signage or take other measures to ensure customers are aware of the need to wear a face covering on the premises. You can download a poster from the government website.
- Those who can, should work from home
- A COVID pass is mandatory for entry into nightclubs and settings where large crowds gather
For organisations (event organisers, venues, businesses) who are now required to use the COVID status checks as a condition of entry, more detailed information about the COVID pass is available on this website.
We are updating our online business advice regularly as we work our way through the guidance to understand what Plan B means for Island businesses. If you think your venue or event maybe affected or you need support, please email covidregs@iow.gov.uk.
COVID-19 testing update
Please keeping taking LFT tests regularly when you don’t have symptoms. If you develop symptoms you should book a PCR test online or by calling 119.
- People who are fully vaccinated and identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 (any variant including Omicron) should take an NHS rapid lateral flow test every day for seven days.
If you test positive on an LFT you must isolate and take a PCR test. You can read about this on the government website. This applies to:
- fully vaccinated adults – people who have had 2 jabs
- all children aged 5 to 18 years and 6 months, regardless of their vaccination status
- people who can prove they are unable to be vaccinated for clinical reasons
- people taking part, or have taken part, in an approved clinical trial for a COVID-19 vaccine
Unvaccinated adults are not eligible for daily rapid testing. They must still self-isolate for 10 days if they are a contact of someone who tests positive for COVID-19 (all variants including Omicron) unless eligible for existing workplace daily contact testing.
- If you aren’t able to order LFTs online, please try again another time. The government may temporarily close the website to fulfil orders that have been already placed.
- You can pick up LFTs from your local pharmacy. You do not need a collect code.
- Use this page on keeptheislandsafe.org for more information about COVID-19 testing.

Self-isolation

If you’re worried about money because you’ve been asked to self-isolate, or you need to look after a child who is self-isolating, financial support is available via the Isle of Wight Council website.
